About Charlottesville Blues FC: Charlottesville Blues FC is a new PATH2PRO soccer franchise in Charlottesville, Virginia, fielding a women’s and men’s team this coming May. We seek a passionate and talented Broadcast and Media Intern to join our team for the summer of 2024. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are pursuing or have recently completed a degree in sports broadcasting, media, communications, or a related field and are looking to gain hands-on experience in the sports industry.
Position Overview: As a Broadcast and Media Intern, you will be crucial in supporting our media and communications efforts. This position is ideal for someone with a strong interest in soccer and sports broadcasting who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn and grow in the field of sports media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the production of live play-by-play broadcasts for our national streaming partner, including pre- and post-game shows.
- Edit video content for social media, the official website, and promotional materials.
- Handle digital media asset management and archiving.
- Conduct player interviews and manage press conferences.
- Maintain the team’s media equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide operational support during home and away games, including technical tasks and team coordination.
- Collaborate on media strategies to enhance fan engagement and audience reach.
- Stay on top of the latest trends in sports broadcasting and media.
Qualifications:
- Current pursuit or recent completion of a degree in a relevant field.
- Basic knowledge of video editing and design software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Suite, Canva).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and game days.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Positive attitude, team-oriented, and a genuine eagerness to learn.
- Must provide own transportation for all local matches, events, and practices.
